How to find us
The Microscopy Research Unit is at the IPHT, Beutenberg Campus, Jena in Germany.
If you have a navigation system use the address “Albert-Einstein Straße 9, 07745 Jena” to guide you.
Jena is close to the Autobahn A4 not far from the “Hermsdorfer Kreuz” connecting A4 to A9.
The most convenient exit is “Jena Göschwitz”. See the link to a printable description below for more detail.
From the city center (Teichgraben) use bus 10,11,12 or 13. There is only one direction to go, as “Stadtzentrum/Teichgraben” is the final stop on all of these lines. All these buses go to Beutenberg Campus.
See here for a printable description of how to reach the Beutenberg Campus, where the IHPT is situated.
Turn into the Beutenberg Campus from Winzerlaer Straße near the Bus stop “Beutenberg Campus”. Take the first one left towards the Fraunhofer Institute. The street makes a right bend and the IPHT is in the corner where the street makes another bend. See map below.
Once you enter the main building of the IPHT through the two glass doors (ring 431 at the door in case the building is locked), take the wooden stairs right in front of you and walk to the next (1st) level. Turn right, leaving the stairs towards the library.
The office of Rainer Heintzmann is two rooms to the right of the library entrance and the two student offices are the adjacent rooms to either side.
Alternatively you can ask at the reception in the entrance hall of the IPHT.
